I am very glad to invite you to the very first Stuff Parisians Like get-together. It will be held chez O Chateau, in our Caves. As I’m a good Parisian, I’m going short notice on you.
Let’s do this next Tuesday (the 19th). Let’s say 7.30pm. Bring a bottle of wine. Friends welcome. The more the merrier.

Damn, when you mentioned it a little while ago, I planned on coming, but Tuesday, I can’t, I’m going to an exhibit opening (gosh, does this mean I’m becoming Parisian?)

Just recently found your blog and as I never read them (blogs that is), was surprised to find it hilariously irreverent and somewhat addictive. If it had been drinking with ‘strangers’ I’d have said I’d come but sounds like a whole bevy of pals so too scary.
I also wanted to apply for your stage but it wouldn’t pay my rent unfortunately and I’m not 30 anymore! Ho hum, I’ll definitely be waiting with bated breath for the next installment however…….

Olivier, I wish that we were going to be in Paris for this little get-together. That way, I could leave an equally ambiguous response as to whether we were actually attending and how many might attend if another event weren’t as interesting or if others decided to attend. After reading the responses, I am not sure if it is ex-pats or Parisians that can’t give a solid commitment to an event with limited space.
Enjoy the wine and conversation…we will be sucking down a mediocre vintage in snow covered rural Michigan.
By the way, if I marry a Nigerian Princess that I met through email or hit the British Lottery before Tuesday, two of us will try to make it after we stop at the Monoprix for a €2,30 rouge.

Just wanted to say a special thank you to those of you who came last night. It was a first and there were no guarantees as per the quality of the evening (look at me going all Parisian on you now). So really: thank you! It was a pleasure to meet each and everyone of you – even though it was too brief in most cases.
I had a great time and sincerely hope you did too. My greatest satisfaction was to find out that people who read this little blog (at least those who were here last night) seem to be people of quality.
We never have enough of these in our lives. So stay tuned: more SPL get-togethers to come!!
