A word on taxis in Paris...One thing you must be aware of is that catching a taxi in Paris at night can be a nightmare. After the last trains leave the end of the line at 2am taxi demand goes through the roof. You can wait for up to an hour sometimes to catch one. There are taxi ranks all over the place with lines of people waiting. If you're tactical you can catch one in a side street before the rank. There are a lot of 'dodgy rides' available in Paris with non-official taxis. They don't have signs of meters. We don't recommend using these as you can get ripped off and taken on one hell of a joy ride!
Classy and relatively easy to get into:
Le Cab (Cabaret) is located at 2 Place du Palais Royal, Metro Le Louvre Palais Royal on lines 1 and 7. Entry is typically €15, coat check is available for €3 per item and they're quick off the mark so there's not a lot of waiting. Drinks are priced around the €11-16 mark, but four shots could set you back €52. The music is house and funky house, usually quite vocal stuff which can be nasty sometimes. One out of five times we haven't been impressed with the music, it all depends on the DJ. If you're into the deep electro beats then Cab won't be for you.

Le Queen at 102 Avenue des Champs Elysées, Metro George V on line 1. Check their web site for specific as on some nights Queen is a gay club and it's free for ladies on Wednesdays. It opens at 12pm and you'll be sure to hear some seriously cranking phat tunes in this place! There's usually a few gogo dancers Drinks are €10-11 and are usually served in plastic cups unless you order a bottle of Champagne or spirits. Monday night is 70's and 80's night at Queen, expect to pay €20 entry fee. It usually packs out and the music is pretty good.

Showcase is just a hop skip and a jump from Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysées. Located under the Pont Alexandre III bridge at Port des Champs Elysées. Take metro line 1 or 13 to the station Champs-Elysées Clemenceau then walk down Avenue Winston Churchill towards the bridge (you can't miss that awesome bridge!). Walk down the stairs to the left hand side of the bridge and voila! Showcase sports a young crowd of 18-24 year olds and you can expect to see some great dj's. It's also a concert venue and hosts international artists so entry cost will vary.

Le Duplex right by the Arc de Triomphe at 2bis Avenue Foch. You'll see people lining up to enter. The club is underground. Take metro line 1, 2 or 6 or RER A. Entry is free for ladies BEFORE midnight! There are several zones to le Duplex depending on what type of music you're into. Dance, Electro-house, 70's/80's...The club has several levels to it. Drinks are €11 across the board. Whilst some good tunes can be heard, Le Duplex is by no means our favorite night spot in Paris.

Taking it up a notch:
L'etoile is right by the Arc de Triomphe at 12 Rue de Presbourg. Take metro line 1, 2 or 6 or RER A. L'etoile is open Monday to Saturday hosting a variety of dance events including Thursday night after work 'blow off some steam' type parties. Except to pay a cover-charge of €10-20.

VIP is located at 78 Avenue des Champs Elysées. Take metro line 1 to the "George V." station. It's right near Le Queen so you could do both in one night!

Paris Clubbing superior style (Rue de Ponthieu):
You'll want to dress to impress for these Paris clubs. You'll definitely need a girl with you if your a guy, a two girl to one guy ratio is a good idea for groups. Dress as slick as you can and don't fool around at the door or they'll turn you away. Have a plan B if you go to these places as sometimes they only let you in if you know the owner or one of his close friends. The clubs on this street all open at midnight and close at 7am.
On the plus side, when you get in you'll be clubbing in serious style. These are the places the A listers like to hang out. Rue de Ponthieu is the big trendy when it comes to clubbing in Paris. Take metro line 1 or 9 to the station Franklin D. Roosevelt. Then walk along Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt until you reach rue de Ponthieu on your left.
Le Sens starts the evening as a chic restaurant, then the music breaks out as it turns into a club from midnight. Located at 23 rue de Ponthieu. if you're lucky enough to be allowed in by the masked lady at the door, you're in for one hell of a night! The music at le Sens is simply superb! The resident DJ obviously thinks out his sets before hand (or is a fantastic on the spot music-poet). The sound quality is amazing. A mixture of Rock, electro and dance which sends the crowd wild. With the lyrics from one song to another connecting nicely, shaping the mood of the dance floor.
Le Sens is just the right size, not huge, just the right intimacy. If you call a head you can book a table at the club if you're planning on purchasing a bottle or two of top shelf liquor. There is no cover charge, coat check is €2 per item. We totally recommend Le Sens for a seriously one of a kind night out in Paris!

Le Neo sporting a nice little hall of fame list. Also at 23 rue de Ponthieu. Another little intimate club...
