Olivier Magny, The French sommelier
 |
Olivier is a wine expert. Olivier is a sommelier and the founder of O Chateau. His wine career started
at Le Cellier Saint Paul in Paris, then took him to Le Grand Hôtel du Cap
Ferrat on the French Riviera where he worked with Michelin-starred chef
Edouard Loubet. Today, on top of his activities with O Chateau, Olivier is a
wine consultant for L’Hôtel de Crillon in Paris.
Olivier has taught about wine to more than 15,000 people over the years, in
various countries throughout the globe.
His wine education started with excessive drinking with his rugby friends
and was wrapped up with a certification from the Wine & Spirit Education
Trust. |
Today, Olivier teaches INSEAD students about wine. He has also given classes
at Sciences-Po.
With a bit of a twist
Though he now ranks as one of France's most promising wine characters,
Olivier has an unusual curriculum. After graduating from a prestigious
Grande Ecole, he decided to turn his back to the corporate world to start a
career in wine.
A few years later, Olivier's charisma turned O Chateau into a great little
company. Olivier is frequently presented as 'the Jamie Oliver of wine'. His
fun and laid back style is a fantastic response to all the stuffy wine
experts out there. Olivier has made appearances on various TV shows on the
ABC, BBC1, Channel 5 You may check out some of Olivier's video work on his
