ok - this is not another post. This is just me!
I’m off to NY a week from now. Then, I’ll be off to SF for two days, on my way to New Zealand and Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide). Yes, Parisians like to travel
Being a rookie, I don’t know if this is done in the blogosphere etiquette (I suspect it isn’t), but I’m looking for a place to stay in NY, SF, NZ, Melbourne and Adelaide.
I’m friendly, discrete and, as Chris Rock puts it… clean too.
Anyway, if you or your friends/family have an extra bed or just feel like having a drink sometime with a travelling Parisian, just let me know!
Merci merci,
Olivier (olivier - at - o-chateau - dot - com)
PS: While travelling, ad in case that’s of interest for anyone, I shall keep fueling you with silly little posts

As an American woman I have to say that I really admire your French courage. Don’t think I would dare to ask my readers if I might stay with them. But, I do think it is a little different for men than it is for women. And, all of you readers are clearly intelligent and not at all frightening.
Hope you have a fantastic journey! Look forward to hearing about your trip.
Bon voyage!

Unfortunately, I don’t live in any of the countries you’re visitng, but if you ever decide to make un p’tit detour to Toronto, then drinks will be in order.
Well I was hoping to get to meet you at the wine and cheese lunch I booked with O Chateau on my visit to Paris next week, but it sounds like you’ll be off traveling the world!
Bon voyage!
oh, i wish i might put you up — i don’t have any fear of having someone come to stay, but i live in the bronx, a good hour by subway from the really interesting parts of new york. however, a drink or two would not go amiss and i do work in mid-town. send me an email giving dates. i’d be delighted to meet the writer of this very helpful blog!
BLB in The Bronx.
LBR… Ok, that’s nice, but don’t tell my mom!! As per my readers, I really don’t know who they are to be honest!! Hellooooo… someone in there?!!
Merci merci (j’ai passé presque 4 mois à LA au printemps dernier - seriously miss mexican food and the sun)
MissV… Toronto sounds like a great place. Watchout, I might take you up on that some day! I’m known to like drinks!
Chris… oh, i’m honored! If you’re in town on the 15th (Wedn.), I’ll probably be presenting the Cheese & Wine or the Grand 7. Let me know if you can/wanna change that. In all cases, all sommeliers at O Chateau just rock so it’ll be a great time for sure!! Masi merci, vraiment!
I’ll stay another week in San Francisco…if you’re looking for someone to stay with : 0
I’m in the wrong part of Australia, way over the other side of the country, and as the husband is out of the country it might be a bit awkward if I tell him that I’ve invited a stranger, a friendly, discrete Frenchman at that, to stay in his absence. He just might think that was taking my French obsession too far
Clearly your readers are cool people, so hopefully there’s a couple of Australian readers way over the other side of the country that will put their hand up.
I hope you have a wonderful trip.
You know I’m up for a drink in Sydneytown. Drop me a line when you’re here if you have time.
Salut Olivier ! I can’t help you personally, as you seem to have forgotten Champagne-Ardennes on your route (hee hee) but you could try couchsurfing.com - I saw a show about this recently (66 Minutes or some other magazine show) and it seems to work well. Only thing is that you’ll have to return the favor when you get home!
Bon courage !
Bonnie Ann… thank you very much. I indeed have a few meetings in the morning in teh city, so one hour sounds like a lot… but hey, I’m always up for drinks!
David… thx for your kindest offer Monsieur. I should get in SF around OCt 23 or so. You’ll be gone, right?!
Michelle… funny note! I wouldn’t want tomess with Australian men. i’m sure they’re already irritated enough by the level of their rugby team ;-))
Fi… cool cool
Vivi… Champagne Ardennes sounds so much less sexy than Champagne doesn’t it?!! I like the idea of the complete unknown though… It’s good not to know what to expect. Spices things up a bit!!
Olivier, thanks so much! I’ve sent you an e-mail about it.
olivier: well, it now looks like i will at least have an open blow-up mattress available end of october, beginning of november… if you’re really hard up for a place to stay. as for drinks, it would be my pleasure to stand you a round or two. your website has been most helpful to me recently.
Have a great trip and I hope you find lots of places to stay!! I miss San Fran.. Say hi to California for me!
Bon voyage,
Leesa
Shame that you aren’t coming a la Nouvelle Orleans! Maybe next trip?
I was just in NYC last week — what a great time of year to be there. Have fun!

Bonnie-Ann… thx - I found a place to stay in NY thanks to a reader of this blog (Christian - you’re a star, i am forever in your debt - MERCI). But why not for drinks!
Leesa… merci merci!! Je mangerai des burritos à ta santé!
Erika… never been to NO. Hopefully some day!! And yeah, excited I am for NY.
Cindy… I’m arriving Thursday. So I’m all ears!! Merci!
Olivier! Glad you found a central place to stay. But drinks it is… please let me know when you’re in the city and I will make certain to meet up. Have a wonderful trip to all the other great places as well.
Hi Olivier
Its a shame you are not coming to the fantastic Margaret River wine area of Australia where we are, that’s me and my ex Parisian wife who enjoy your blogs very much.
