Olivier Magny

Olivier is the founder of O Chateau. He is a sommelier and a bit of a nutcase. On top of his activities with O Chateau, Olivier is also a wine consultant for fancy pantsy Hotel de Crillon. In October 2009, Wall Street Journal referred to “Taste-master” Olivier Magny which almost made “Taste-master” Olivier Magny’s mom stop asking him when he was going to get a real job. Olivier’s side occupations include writing (his first book Dessine-moi un Parisien received much press acclaim) and Stuff Parisians Like is coming out in English July 5th, 2001.

He is also wrapping up his next book about terroir. And working on developing a TV series about wine. Besides this, Olivier speaks four languages; he loves good food, good wine and good conversations. (read more…)

Nicolas Paradis

Nicolas and Olivier have been friends for many years. They played rugby together at university.  Nicolas is originally from the Languedoc. He holds a Master of Sciences from ENSAM and an MBA from ESSEC. Nicolas joined O Chateau in 2007 to turn Olivier’s weird idea into the real company that O Chateau has become today.

Charlotte Buisson Dackow

Charlotte Buisson Dackow

Charlotte was born and raised in Burgundy. She studied English first and wine second. Her wine journey before Ô Chateau took her to New Zealand where she worked for a year and California where she worked for several months.

Charlotte speaks impeccable English. She’s absolutely passionate about wine. She might also very well be the kindest person in Paris.

Campbell “Sophie” Whitman

Campbell might be the craziest of us all. She’s our chef. Originally from California, Campbell worked for 9 years in the LA area. She’s a graduate from Cordon Bleu Culinary school in Paris.

Campbell’s family owns and operates a small winery in the Ojai valley in California. So Campbell specializes in wine dinners. Despite the fact that she’s out of her mind, Campbell is a gifted chef and her true pleasure to work with.

Clemences

Clémence Vernant

If you talk to Clemence, you’ll probably think she’s a complete snob. Truth is, she definitely sounds like one. In reality though, Clemence is both a great Office Manager and a French girl with a penchant for fun. Needless to say how precious she is to us as a consequence. Clemence is a complete gem, fantastically efficient with our clients.

Just try and overcome the snob voice… We managed so you should.

Clemence is originally from Paris where she studied bullshit business management. Clemence’s main drawback let’s face it: she’s a terrible cook.

Rudy Vasquez

Rudy is orginally from California. He has extensive experience in the restaurant business there.

Along with his girlfriend, Rudy decided to move to Paris to “try something new”. Toay, he splits his days between French classes and helping in teh kitchen at Ô Chateau.

Rudy’s mostly a beer drinker but we’re working on him…

Jony

Jony Manan

Last but not least, Jony – the man, the legend.

Originally from Bangladesh, Jony fled his empoverished country to first move to Hong Kong where he spent 10 years handling luggage at the HK airport. Three years ago, Jony moved to France and started to work for Ô Chateau as a handy man.

He quickly became indispensable. Not only because he’s fantastically hard working and efficient, but also because he’s always smily and happy.

Jony has a wife and three children back in Bangladesh. Thanks to his hard work at Ô Chateau, Jony supports his entire community back home.
